Month of the Military Child Spirit Week

The men and women of the United States military, along with their families, make significant sacrifices to protect our nation’s security and freedom. Among them are military-connected children, who demonstrate remarkable strength, sacrifice, and resiliency. Each April, we honor them during the Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize their unique challenges and contributions as we “Purple Up! For Military Kids.”

Across the country, states and school districts celebrate these incredible children by participating in special activities and wearing purple, a color that represents all branches of the military. White Sulphur Springs Elementary School will to take part in Spirit Week from April 20-24, 2026, with April 23rd designated as “Purple Up” Day.
